1. Emily has lived in Costa Rica & Argentina
-I learned from reading her reflection on Paulo Freire that he belived in consientization, which is the thought that recognizes the power to bring about change and good.
-Also learned that Paulo Freire's book "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" is on of the most referenced educational books in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
2. Christina is fascinated with the art from Latin America and the Caribbean
-After reading her entry I learned that when Freire became the director of the Brazilian National Literacy Program, he created a plan to educate 5 million Brazilians!
-Another interesting fact about Freire is that he has written over 20 books in his lifetime.
